Evolving into the future

While the print news industry continues to find it’s way, I’ve been lucky enough to work for a family-owned company that believes in journalism, newspapers and the pursuit of excellence. So it’s with great pleasure that I’ve agreed to take a new job with Advance Digital to create and manage a team of high-end visual journalists that will work with all the company’s print products to produce sophisticated storytelling presentations for their readers.

The job is part of an initiative to advance (no pun intended) and evolve what printed news media is and will be in the future.

I’m excited to create and pioneer virtual staffing, communication, and infrastructure as part of this enterprise-wide effort. It’s a first for the industry and I’m excited to be a part of it!

A new opportunity

image001I’m a bit late in announcing the fact that I’ve accepted a fabulous opportunity to work with the Alabama Media Group’s PubHub.

Yes, they are the Advance Newspaper group that successfully moved from a daily publishing cycle to three days each week (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.) And for the record, they do a lot more than the daily paper. Continue reading

And while I’m very proud of the work I have accomplished and what I’ve created during my tenure as a key architect in Gannett’s Design Studio strategy, I am looking forward to new opportunities that will give me the chance to use my management, design, mentoring and creative skills to make great things or make good things better.
